A World of Clothing
Created in Sustainability, Eco-art and Hactivism, this piece originated from an assignment to catalogs all of my belongings. Realizing that most items I owned were clothes, I developed this piece based on where each item of clothing was made. The larger printed number on each country bubble is the population as of July 2011 and the smaller printed number is the GDP exporting power in USD. Information of population and GDP is derived from the CIA World Factbook.
Food Production
Created in Sustainability, Eco-art and Hactivism, this piece fulfilled the section taught on food. Using information from the USDA, I compared food production from 1970 to 2009. The circular graph indicates all food production from 1970 to 2009 in millions of pounds, where as the animal graphics represent the average food consumption in millions of pounds per year with included facts of each food item produced.
Normal Recycles
Created in Sustainability, Eco-art and Hactivism, this piece was made for the community. The class worked on different projects to inform Illinois State Students and Normal, IL residents the different types of sustainable methods, focusing on recycling. For this project I created a poster indicating the different types of recyclables Normal, IL accepts.
No More Football
Created in Photoshop 2, this piece demonstrates the different layers used to manipulate a photograph. First a merge technique was used to create a panorama, then a Difference Clouds filter, Crystallize filter, Grain filter and Noise filter were used to create the aging effect.
